Download your Business Objective Chain Model Whitepaper!
Hello attendees. Thank you for attending Joy Beatty’s talk.
The objective chain begins first with the business objective at the top of the chain, eventually linking to features. Between the business objectives and features are qualitative statements describing how the level adds value to the objective above it.
Objective chains are extensions of your business objective model; they break down it down in greater detail so every objective factor has an associated value, providing requirements traceability and reinforcing the overall goals of the project (see example below).
As business analysts or product managers, using a business objective chain to help define project perimeters can uncover potential excess in features that can be cut from your project, saving time, money and drama down the road.
