TechTarget Article Featuring Seilevel: A Five-Step Plan to Capturing Better Application Requirements

Hi Everyone!  The good folks over at TechTarget recently interviewed me for an article on capturing better requirements.  In it, I talk about using linkedin, business objectives, and NOT being a secretary.  Check it out here:

I’d be curious to hear from others who have leveraged social media to elicit requirements.  I am one of the few people on earth who are NOT on Facebook, although I do have a pretty sweet linkedin profile.  As mentioned in the article, I’ve actually used it to track down stakeholders from time to time, and to gather a little bit more information about what projects SMEs have worked on.  I swear, I’m not e-stalking anyone…

Can you clarify what you mean by “SME”?

The Society of Manufacturing Engineers could be consulting with Subject matter experts of Small and medium enterprises to determine whether the Sloppy Meateaters should create a Spontaneous Music Ensemble and record under Sony Music Entertainment for distribution within either China’s Socialist market economy or Germany’s Social market economy, depending on what the Structure mapping engine (which is run on their SME Server) says.

Thanks for reading our blog and responding! My apologies for the confusion. Sometimes I take for granted all of our requirements-speak around here. By “SME”, I mean “Subject Matter Expert”. Thanks!
